Overview
ClientPoint now notifies returning recipients when new content has been added to a ClientPoint they have previously visited. Whether a new file is added directly to the ClientPoint or imported through a Live Template, recipients will see a clear "NEW" indicator on the updated content, so nothing important goes unnoticed.
This feature ensures your clients are always aware of the latest documents, updates, and materials available to them, without you having to reach out manually every time something changes.
How to Enable This Feature
This setting is configured at the admin level under Miscellaneous Configuration.
Step 1 - Log in to your ClientPoint admin account.
Step 2 - Navigate to Settings > Advanced Settings.
Step 3 - Scroll to the Miscellaneous Configuration section.
Step 4 - Locate and toggle ON the following two settings:
- "Show new/updated indicators for returning recipients" - displays the NEW badge on files that have been added or updated since the recipient's last visit.
- "Enable Proposal Content Search" - enables the enhanced search experience inside the ClientPoint viewer.
Step 5 - Click Save.
How It Works
Once enabled, here is what happens when new content is added to a ClientPoint:
New file added directly to the ClientPoint When a user adds a new file to an existing ClientPoint, returning recipients will see a "NEW" badge displayed next to that file the next time they open their ClientPoint link.
New file added via a Live Template If a new file is added to a Live Template that has already been imported into a ClientPoint, that file will also trigger the "NEW" indicator for returning recipients - keeping them informed of any template-level updates automatically.
What the recipient sees The NEW badge appears directly on the file name in the recipient viewer, as shown below. Recipients can immediately identify which files are new or recently updated without having to browse through all content manually.
Why This Matters
Previously, when new content was added to a ClientPoint, recipients had no way of knowing unless they were manually notified. This update removes that friction entirely.
For your team: No need to send separate emails notifying clients of updated content the platform does it for you automatically through a visible, clear indicator.

Important Notes
- The "NEW" indicator only appears for returning recipients, first-time visitors will see all content as standard since everything is new to them.
- The indicator applies to both directly uploaded files and files added through Live Templates imported into the ClientPoint.
- Once a recipient has viewed the new file, the NEW badge will clear on their next visit.
- Both toggles, "Show new/updated indicators" and "Enable Proposal Content Search", work together to deliver the full enhanced recipient experience.
