Overview: What Makes ClientPoint's Content Segmentation Powerful?
ClientPoint offers a robust suite of options for organizing and segmenting content, templates, users, and themes within the platform, making it adaptable for a wide range of organizational structures. Through Workspaces, Divisions, Regions, and Markets, ClientPoint allows you to create focused environments within your system to keep documents, data, and user activity organized and secure. This segmentation is especially beneficial for companies managing multiple brands, departments, or geographic markets, as it enables structured data management, precise access control, and improved reporting capabilities. Within each area you can assign admins, managers and users. Someone with the same rights can be assigned across multiple areas. But you can not be an admin in one area and a user in another.
workspaces
What is a Workspace? A Workspace acts as a distinct area within your ClientPoint system, ideal for companies that have multiple brands, subsidiaries, or operational areas they wish to manage separately. With Workspaces, each company or business unit can have its own unique content, themes, users, and templates within a single ClientPoint system. This is perfect for companies that want to keep these aspects distinct but still centrally managed.
Creating and Managing Workspaces
To create and manage Workspaces:
- Go to Settings in your ClientPoint system.
- Click on the Workspaces icon to access the Workspaces Menu.
- Here, you can navigate through the tabs to add, edit, or remove Workspaces, Divisions, Regions, or Markets.
Adding a Workspace
- Select Add Workspace, and enter the desired name for your new Workspace.
- Click Submit to create the Workspace.
- You can then assign ClientPoints, users, themes, library content, and templates specifically to this Workspace, ensuring data and content separation.
Divisions
What are Divisions? Divisions enable interdepartmental or franchise-based segmentation within a ClientPoint Workspace. This is valuable for organizations with different teams, such as HR, Finance, and Sales, where each team needs access to distinct content and files while remaining restricted from viewing other departments' information. Each Division can also be assigned a unique theme and URL, providing a customized experience for each team.
Creating and Managing Divisions
To create and manage Divisions:
- Under the Workspaces menu, select Add Division.
- Enter the name of the Division and click Submit to create it.
- Specify the Workspace to which the Division belongs and, if desired, apply a theme and assign an email address to receive Sign notifications specific to this Division.
- When adding users, you’ll be prompted to assign them to a Division, limiting their access to only files and content within that Division.
Regions & Markets
What are Regions and Markets? Regions and Markets allow you to tag ClientPoints with geographical or market-specific information, making it easier to filter and report on data by location or sector. This tagging is invaluable for companies needing detailed reporting on ClientPoint usage across various territories or sectors.
Creating and Managing Regions & Markets
To create Regions and Markets:
- In the Workspaces menu, select Add Region or Add Market.
- Enter the desired name and click Submit to create the Region or Market.
- Assign the Region or Market to a specific Division or Workspace, as appropriate.
- Once tagged, this information will appear in reporting tools, allowing for easy analysis and data retrieval based on geographic or market segments.
Summary of Key Benefits
- Enhanced Organization: Segment documents, templates, users, and themes by company, department, or market.

- Detailed Reporting: Regions and Markets enable data tagging for more accurate, insightful reporting.
By leveraging Workspaces, Divisions, Regions, and Markets, you can efficiently organize content and data, streamline team collaboration, and enhance data security—all within a single ClientPoint system.
