Overview
The latest update to the ClientPoint Sign feature, released on October 30, 2024, introduces a valuable new "Exit" option that provides enhanced flexibility and control over the digital signing process. This update focuses on reducing accidental data loss by allowing signers to choose between saving or discarding their in-progress work before exiting. The goal of this feature is to streamline the signing experience, making it easier for users to manage their progress and return to their tasks without disruption. The update also brings an improved draft-saving process and additional options for continuing or resetting work upon re-entry.
Key Features and Functionalities
-
Exit Confirmation on Field Completion
A new "Exit" button is now available for signers to end their signing session more effectively. Upon clicking "Exit," a confirmation popup appears, asking users to confirm their intent, helping prevent accidental exits.
-
Confirmation Popup Actions
- Save Draft: Selecting "Save Draft" will save the current progress and allow the signer to return to the "Continue Signing" stage, where they can pick up where they left off.
- Discard: Choosing "Discard" removes any changes made during the current session while retaining previously saved data. This action will also return the user to the "Continue Signing" stage, ready to start from the last saved point.
-
Continue Signing Stage
This feature modifies the behavior of saved drafts. Previously, signing progress was saved within the signing process without redirection. Now, if a user saves progress using the Draft icon and switches files or reloads the page, they’ll be taken back to the "Continue Signing" stage, providing a more intuitive process.
-
Orientation Limitation
A minor limitation exists with the new feature: changing the screen orientation from Landscape to Portrait mode while in the signing stage may hide the exit button. If this happens, the user will need to reload the page to restore the exit button. An additional update to address this will be available soon.
The new exit feature in ClientPoint’s eSign process brings added control and flexibility, allowing users to securely save or discard their in-progress work before exiting. This update significantly reduces the risk of data loss, creating a more efficient and user-friendly signing experience. With enhanced functionality like the confirmation popup, draft-saving options, and an intuitive return-to-signing process, users can now manage their digital signing tasks with greater confidence and ease.
