Direct Links allow users to share URL's with their recipients that will direct them to a specific file within a ClientPoint. Sharing Direct Links helps your recipients easily navigate to new or updated content within the ClientPoints you share with them.
Enabling Direct Links
- Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Advanced Configuration
- Expand the Miscellaneous Configuration section, and turn on Enable Direct Link
- Click Save, and you're done!
From the files area you already know that you can copy the green circle at the top left to sent the link to the ClientPoint, with access to all of the content within that ClientPoint.
Using Direct Links
- Open up the Files Tab for the ClientPoint you wish to share
- Hover over the file you wish for the recipient(s) to view as soon as they enter the ClientPoint, and click on Copy Direct Link
- Paste the link and share with your recipient(s). With this pasted link, they will be directed to the file you generated the link from, upon opening the ClientPoint.
This will allow the person that you send the link to a direct connection to this specific content first, vs landing on the content at the top of the Table of Contents. It's a great shortcut feature to use if you need to have someone look at that specific content. You can uses it to remind them to sign a contract, or target a video you have been wanting then to watch. They will still need to log in with an email, and can view all of the ClientPoint content, but it helps provide targeted direction on what needs to be addressed first.
