How To Move From On Prem Dynamic CRM Integration To On Cloud
Here are the following steps that need to be followed in order to move On Prem integration to on cloud:
Step1: Taking a look at their current integration how they are using it today
- Go to Settings-Integrations-Dynamic CRM-Manage- Field Mapping
- Note down or take a screenshot of all the custom fields/Recipient fields that are integrated and send it to the client to reconfirm if the fields will remain the same or have changed.
- Reconfirm the Api names of the fields that the client would like to pull from Dynamics.
Step2: Setup A Sandbox Workspace
- Go to Settings-Workspace-Add Workspace by the name of Sandbox
- Go to Settings-Custom Fields and duplicate the custom fields in their Workspace to the Sandbox Workspace.
- You can use the same tag name for the fields you create just make sure to assign them to Sandbox
- Confirm the API names of the custom fields in the cloud CRM so that they can be created for the Sandbox.
- Once you have the API names add them in Settings-Integrations-Dynamic CRM-Manage-Field configuration. These fields will be duplicates and make sure to add them in the correct fields.
Step3: Configure Dynamics Cloud
- Go To Workspace drop down and switch to Sandbox
- Go to settings-Integration-Dynamic Crm-Manage-Configure
- Make sure Online is selected and add the organization URL that needs to be provided by the client
- Clients will be able to send us the organization URL after they are done installing the manage solution.
- Please send them the latest version of the solution from the Shared drive-Development–CRM docs–Dynamics–CRM Package–Dynamics 365 Online–ClientPoint_1_0_managed
- Also send them the PDF instructions document on how to install this solution Share drive–Development–Crm Docs–Dynamics–Dynamics CRM Cloud Installation Instruction
- All users will be prompted to authorize ClientPoint in Dynamics
Step4: Testing
- Duplicate/create a version of all tools and merge documents that are using the integration in the Sandbox workspace and test the system. In this period their Sandbox environment in CRM will be connected to the Sandbox Workspace in ClientPoint.
- Once the testing on our side is complete ask the client to test
Step5: Move Over To Production
- Once the testing is complete on both ends, schedule a move over date with the client where they will not be creating any proposals from their CRM and will switch over to production.
- Go ahead and update all API names in the actual workspace
- As the client to install the manage solution in their working environment that is production and provide you with the Organization URL for production
- Update the Organization URL in the original Workspace by going into Settings-Integration-Dynamic CRM-Manage-Configuration
- Once they officially move over to their production Workspace delete the Sandbox Workspace and disconnect their Sandbox environment in CRM to the Sandbox Workspace.
